This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit molmart.pk or place an order, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
What Personal Data We Collect and Why
We collect only the information we need to run the store and serve you.
Order and account information: When you place an order or create an account, we collect your name, phone number, email address, delivery address and order details. We use this to confirm and deliver your order, process payments and refunds, handle returns, and contact you about your order. Our basis for this is that it is necessary to fulfil your purchase.
Payment information: We accept Cash on Delivery, bank transfer, Easypaisa, JazzCash and cards. For card payments, your card details are entered with the payment provider and are not stored on our website. For bank transfer and mobile wallets, we may keep the transaction reference or payment proof you send us.
Comments: When visitors leave comments or reviews, we collect the data shown in the comment form, plus the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spot spam. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media: If you upload images to the website, please avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS), because visitors can download and extract location data from images on the website.
Contact forms and messages: When you contact us through a form, email or WhatsApp, we collect the details you give us, such as your name, contact details and message. We use them only to reply and give customer support, not for unrelated marketing.
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies: Our website uses cookies, which are small files stored in your browser. If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email and website in cookies for your convenience; these last for one year. If you log in, we set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies, which is removed when you close the browser. Login cookies last two days, or two weeks if you select “Remember Me”. Logging out removes them. If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie is saved for one day. If our store plugin is active, it may also set cookies to remember your cart and checkout details.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the store, such as the cart, may not work properly without them.
Analytics: We may use analytics tools to understand how visitors use the website, such as which pages are popular. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. You can opt out by blocking cookies in your browser or using a privacy extension.
Who We Share Your Data With and Where It Is Sent
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who need it to complete your order or run the website.
- Courier and delivery companies: your name, phone number, delivery address and order value, so they can deliver your parcel.
- Payment providers (banks, Easypaisa, JazzCash and card processors): the payment details needed to process your payment or refund.
- Hosting provider (Hostinger): the website and its data are stored on their servers.
- Authorities: if required by law or a valid legal request.
Where your data is sent: Our hosting provider may store website data on servers outside Pakistan, including outside the European Union. We use providers that apply recognized security standards to protect that data. If you are in the European Union or European Economic Area, such transfers rely on safeguards like Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable, and you can contact us for details.
How Long We Keep Your Data and Your Rights
Retention:
- Order and customer records: kept for 5 years for accounting, returns and legal purposes.
- Contact form and support messages: kept for up to 12 months.
- Comments and their metadata: kept until deleted, or until you ask us to remove them.
- Analytics data: kept in aggregated form for up to 12 months.
After these periods, we delete or anonymize the data.
Your rights: You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also object to our using your data, or withdraw consent you gave earlier. We will respond within a reasonable time. To make a request, email contact@molmart.pk. We may keep data we are legally required to retain, such as order records, and we may need to verify your identity first.
How We Protect Your Data and Other Disclosures
Protection: We use an SSL certificate so data between your browser and our website is encrypted, keep our software and plugins updated, and limit access to customer data to people who need it for their work. We never ask for your card PIN or password by phone or message.
Data breaches: If we become aware of a breach that puts your personal data at risk, we will act quickly to contain it, investigate it, and notify affected customers and the relevant authorities where required.
Data we receive from third parties: We may receive payment confirmations from payment providers and delivery status updates from couriers. We do not buy personal data from advertisers or data brokers.
Automated decisions and profiling: We do not make decisions about you using fully automated processing or profiling.
Regulatory notes: Molmart is not part of a specially regulated industry. We handle personal data in line with the laws of Pakistan.
